The Levittown Chamber of Commerce held its general meeting on March 18 at Long Island Center for Independent Living. The guest speaker was Nassau County Comptroller Maragos, who serves as the fiscal watchdog for Nassau County. Comptroller Maragos spoke about Nassau County’s recovery from Hurricane Sandy, the state of Nassau County finances as well as the PSEG rate increase, which he feels is unjustified. Maragos provided time for chamber member’s questions, which focused on job growth and keeping taxes affordable in order for people to stay on Long Island.
