The Levittown Chamber of Commerce held its general meeting on August 19 at Long Island Center for Independent Living. The guest speaker was Levittown Chamber of Commerce member, Mike Levy. Mike is the owner of Minuteman Press of Levittown. He discussed how small businesses can market in the media age.
The chamber meets every third Wednesday of the month and meetings are open to the public. Meetings rotate month to month from a lunch to a dinner and then back to a lunch. In addition the officers and board of directors welcomed Ann Torcivia,founder of The Joey Foundation. Ann has been a member of the chamber for manyyears and was at one time the president for the Levittown Chamber of Commerce. Ann owns Friends Travel in Levittown and is also the founder of the Joey Foundation. Ann founded the Joey Foundation in memory of her son, Joey Torcivia who suffered from Aplastic Anemia and died at the age of 6 from pneumonia. The Joey Foundation is a Levittown-based non-profit organization devoted to improving the lives of children.
