The Levittown Chamber of Commerce would like to introduce a relatively new member who joined in December 2019. Lotus Fitness is a gym owned by Ahmed Ahmed and YES, his first name is the same as his last name so it’s very easy to remember !
Lotus Fitness is located at 3058 Hempstead Turnpike in Levittown with entrance in the back near the parking lot.
Ahmed started his own fitness journey a decade ago - intent on losing weight and making it happen. The lessons he learned and continue to learn everyday at the gym have opened up opportunities to him that he never thought possible beforehand. The understanding of self efficacy, personal responsibility and a beginner’s mindset, cultivated through workouts, have lead him to become a results-oriented coach. He specializes in getting people to reap their own life-altering benefits from living a healthier life.
The Levittown Chamber of Commerce would like to introduce a long time member, Frank Mormando, who is the current Owner/operator of Levittown Lanes located at 56 Tanners Lane along with his son Joseph.
The Mormando family has operated the business for 66 years providing Bowling Entertainment to the community with Frank representing the second generation with Joseph representing the third generation.
Mormando grew up in Levittown and went to Abby Lane School. He has been a member of the Chamber for many years and has served as Treasurer for 20 years.
The Levittown Chamber of Commerce would like to recognize a long -time member of the community. Pat’s Barber Shop (formerly known as Pergament Barber Shop) located at 17 Emerson Ave in Levittown.
The barber shop has been in existence for 51 years. Owned and operated by 92 year old Pasquale Palumbo with the help of his daughter, Rose Drummond and son Charlie Palumbo.
Speaking with Rose she said that she is thrilled with being selected by the Chamber for this spotlight!
Being a family run business for all these years run the “old school way” with the help of many of the loyal barbers some having been with them for 25 years, has been a joy according to Rose and the “old school way” has helped keep their prices affordable.
The Levittown Chamber of Commerce would like to spotlight a long time Chamber member Joan Lynch, who is the Immediate Past President of the Chamber and serves on the scholarship, budgeting and festival committees. She serves on the Board of Directors of the Gerben Foundation whose charter is to provide financial support for research and treatment of Canine Lymphoma and is also a member of the Levittown Lions Club. She was a past honoree at the Levittown School District’s annual dinner for her commitment and service to the community and was honored at the Nassau County Legislature 2019 Women of Distinction Program-Trailblazers the New Millennium 21st Annual Awards Ceremony for District 15.
