The Town of Hempstead provides residents with a wealth of beneficial resources including the Animal Shelter, the Department of Planning and Economic Development, the Housing Authority, the Department of Senior Enrichment, Civil Service Commission and the Department of Occupational Resources.

Of particular interest to local businesses is the Department of Planning and Economic Development, which administers the federally funded Community Development Program and collects data on which policy-making decisions are made.

Nassau County Resources

Nassau County Office of Economic Development (ED)assists businesses in finding locations to operate or expand in the New York Metropolitan area. ED specializes in helping small to medium-sized businesses with all sorts of programs and services that can make doing business in Nassau County more profitable, such as income tax credits, energy discounts and financing for working capital needs.

ED can introduce you to the Grow Nassau Fund, which can make loans from $50,000 to $2 million at very competitive rates.

Through the Excelsior Jobs Program, eligible businesses can take advantage of valuable tax credit incentives that can make doing business in Nassau County more competitive.
